Begins at 6 a.m.

Everyone is invited to the Habitat at the Park fundraiser on Saturday, May 17, at Lake Benson Park in Garner.  Plan to attend and bring your family to help us raise money for a Habitat for Humanity home.

The fundraiser opens at 6 a.m. with a plant sale, yard sale, bake sale, craft sale, and concession stands (providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner).  The children's area opens at 9 a.m. with games, air-filled play structures, balloon animals, face painting, and hot air balloon rides.

There will be live entertainment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. including Declaration (Horne Memorial UMC youth praise band), Studio 5 Dance Team, Lisa Kelbaugh, Journey of Grace (Garner UMC praise band), Brothers in Bluegrass, Doug Meeker, and Sunday Halo.

Don't miss the live auction at 6 p.m.

This fundraiser is presented by the Power of 7 Missions, which is seven local churches who have come together with a purpose to provide a home for a deserving family in our community.

Lake Benson Park is located in Garner at 921 Buffalo Road.

This is the land on Timber Drive in Garner on which the Habitat house is to be built!

Volunteer Opportunities

If you know of an especially talented group that would like to perform, please see Tony Hewett (662-4960) or John Holden (773-8613).

We also need people to pick up money, make change, etc.   Please see Tim Moreland (763-0720).

We are collecting donations of 12 oz. bottled water & 12 oz. cans of Pepsi, Coke, Sprite, etc. for the Habitat Fundraiser.  Please place your donations on the shelves in the hallway between the Sanctuary and the Sunday School Building by Friday, May 16.

We need baked goods that are sliced and individually wrapped as well as whole cakes, pies, etc.  They need to be dropped off at Mount Zion by the evening of Friday, May 16. They will be collected around 5-5:30 a.m. on Saturday and taken to the fundraiser.  Anyone who wishes to bring their dessert directly to the fundraiser needs to have it there by 8 a.m.  Volunteers who want to help sell the baked goods on Saturday need to contact Leslie (763-0720).

The Live Auction and Yard Sale committee is asking for items to be auctioned off and for yard sale items.  If you have yard sale items please call Leslie Moreland at 736-0720 or learmo@nc.rr.com.  Also, would you, or do you know of any business that would like to donate an item for auction?  For more information or to donate auction items please call Roger & Rhonda Pritchard 577-0817.  A volunteer is needed to represent Mount Zion, to be the Live Auction contact person/coordinator.  Please contact Annette Holden at 625-0810.

If you would like to purchase a Habitat for Humanity t-shirt, please see Annette Holden or Leslie Moreland.  Lime t-shirts are for the workers. Yellow t-shirts will be available at the fundraiser for $15.

The Habitat for Humanity is also selling rain barrels for their Fundraiser. More information is displayed on the shelves in the hallway between the Sanctuary and the Sunday School Building.
