Ministries at Mount Zion encompass a wide array of opportunities for you and your family to embrace God’s love and grace. We want all people to connect with God and each other. Christ has commanded us to share his love with others, and we do that in many ways. As with any organization, there are countless behind-the-scenes activities taking place each day as we are called to glorify God. Won’t you join us at worship and in any of these many activities to celebrate and live the abundant life Christ offers us all. To find out more about the many groups that meet regularly here at Mount Zion, click on the category title. Please refer to our calendar for dates and times. As always, you may call our church office at 772-8415 or Contact Us for further details. Men’s Ministry: The United Methodist Men’s group holds bi-monthly breakfasts for fellowship and Bible study. Women’s Ministries: Several Women’s Circles meet monthly for fellowship, spiritual growth, mutual support, and compassionate endeavors. Family Ministries: Opportunities are available throughout the year for families to gather for fun and fellowship. Senior Adult Ministries: We honor senior citizens with regular breakfasts and special events at the church. Missions/Service Opportunities: Mount Zion partners with local, national, and global efforts to spread the gospel, help the poor, and provide practical assistance in the name of Jesus Christ. There are ways for everyone to be involved regardless of age or ability. Habitat for Humanity: The Wake County Habitat for Humanity, along with the Power of 7 Missions (seven local churches working together, of which Mount Zion is one) has announced that they now have land and a family and need to raise money to build the house! Our Habitat fundraiser is on Saturday, May 17, at Lake Benson Park. Several classes meet each Sunday morning to study and apply the Bible to daily life. Adult small groups operate on a seasonal basis with groups based on various interests and needs. Our musical selections span the ages from classical to contemporary and span the genres from bluegrass to rock. We intentionally include a variety of styles and presentations.L et the little children come to me: do not stop them for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.-- Mark 10:14
Just as Jesus did, we welcome children to the ministries of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. You will find a loving, caring atmosphere where children can come to know and grow in God’s love and learn how to share God’s love with others.
Mount Zion has a very busy Children's Ministries program. Our
active children’s Sunday School classes meet Sunday mornings at
10 a.m. throughout the annex. There are many
activities that are specifically designed just for the
children. They include Valentine's Day, Easter, and fall
parties with games and learning activities. There is a
wonderful Bible School for five nights in July and a Christmas
play in December. We have a Children's Church for ages two to
second grade that the children can attend during the regular
church services. There are various other activities throughout
the year. Our children are very special to us, and we try very
hard to provide a safe and positive learning experience for
them.
Come have fun with other kids, learn about our Lord, and
help others!

We hope to see you soon!
Mount Zion Youth Ministry exists to REACH non-Christian students with the gospel, CONNECT them with other Christians, and TRAIN them in Christian habits, equipping them to SERVE God and CELEBRATE God with their lives.
Welcome to the Mount Zion Youth Ministry! If you're checking us out for the first time, we hope to give you a glimpse of who we are. If you're already part of the Mount Zion family, this is your information source on what's happening.
The vision for Mount Zion youth is the same vision we have for all people: embracing God's love for us through discipleship to Jesus Christ! Above you will find our Youth Ministry purpose statement. Broadly speaking, this is how we partner with young people in becoming disciples of Jesus. All Youth Ministry programming is filtered through these five biblical purposes: reach, connect, train, serve, and celebrate. We are constantly asking ourselves and our youth leaders, "Is this program meeting our purpose? Can we do it better?"
Below is more information about how we put our purpose into action!
Have questions? Feel free to contact our Youth Pastors. Thanks for checking us out. We hope to soon meet you face to face!

UMYF: UMYF stands for United Methodist Youth Fellowship. Many programs and events are sprinkled across the year, but UMYF is our regular weekly meeting of all students from 6th to 12th grades. We presently meet from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday evenings. We begin with a group discussion, have dinner together at 5 p.m., and participate in games or activities at 5:30 p.m.
During Spring 2008, our discussions will focus on basic truths of Christian faith. Through the Apostle's Creed and the Ten Commandments, we will rediscover how God's truth shapes our lives into something bigger and better than we could ever imagine!
Youth Missions & Service: Mount Zion Youth Ministry is committed to service and mission wherever it leads! In the past few years, our students have done home improvement projects for people in need across North Carolina; St. Louis, Missouri; and Washington, D.C. Students have volunteered at local soup kitchens, food banks, and shelters. We've even traveled to Mexico to help build a church building and a home for a missionary.

Youth Calendar: Our current youth calendar can be accessed as a PDF file or by viewing our calendar page.: The UMYF recently completed a series focused on the core beliefs all Christians share in common. Youth explored the Apostle's Creed as the basic expression of that shared faith and what those core truths say about how we should live our lives. Posted here is a compilation of the daily devotional reflections from this study.
