Welcome to Mount Zion United Methodist Church on the web!  We're a traditional Methodist church serving the thriving Cleveland community in western Johnston County, North Carolina.

One way to describe what we are about at Mount Zion is, “Calling People Higher!” Regardless of where you are in your relationship with God, we want to help you move forward.  We do our best to accomplish that through these five emphases: 

Worship

The style of worship at Mount Zion is intentionally “well blended” to maintain a traditional feel while incorporating elements that appeal to more contemporary audiences.  Three words that characterize worship at Mount Zion are celebration, inspiration, and preparation. 

Fellowship

Sharing life with others who care for you is not only fun, it’s necessary. We take the need for fellowship seriously but take ourselves lightly. 

Service

We believe that God wants to work through each of us, so we encourage and equip people to serve in meaningful and fulfilling ways. 

Discipleship

We offer a variety of Christian education opportunities to fit different learning styles, time schedules, maturity levels, and personal preferences.  We want to produce maturing followers of Christ, not just better informed people. 

Evangelism

Because accepting God’s gift of salvation is the most important step anyone can take, we provide opportunities for people to investigate, receive, grow in, and pass along God’s offer.
